The Argo Test Unit has been designed to determine accurate
deceleration of an underground locomotive and whether the locomotive complies with the DME (Department of Minerals and Energy) regulation of 0.18 m/s 2.

The units jockey wheel runs directly on the track behind the locomotive to determine the speed, stopping distance and deceleration.

False readings due to wheel skid are eliminated by this use of an

independent wheel running directly on the track.

The handheld data logging unit will immediately display the test result and will indicate whether the locomotive passed or failed.

The information in the handheld unit can then be downloaded and stored on a computer from where a certificate with the locomotive number,

testing date, stopping distance, locomotive speed and deceleration can be printed.

A complete solution.
